Where work gets stuck between people and systems.

I work for organisations where a lot of knowledge and information comes together. The software is there, the people are experienced and the work runs. But between emails, documents, systems and checks a lot of manual work stays behind. That is where I research and build AI systems that can carry out bounded work, with clear limits on what AI does and where people stay accountable.

01 · Three markets

Which organisations do I work for?

Three kinds of organisation where this work keeps coming back. Not because the sector is special, but because the work gets stuck in the same way: information that people move by hand from one system to another.

CTOs and product owners

Software and product companies

AI has to get a real function in the product. Not another chatbot or a loose feature alongside it.

Fits if you have an existing product, a technical team and real users, but do not yet know how to make AI a reliable part of it.

A system that gathers information, carries out actions and works together with the software already there.

Planners, engineers, work preparation

Industry, technical services and logistics

Information has to move faster from request to execution.

AI does the preparatory and administrative work. A planner, engineer or quality manager keeps the judgment.

A lot of work starts with an email, a pdf, an order or a technical specification. After that people look up data, compare documents and enter the same information again in different systems.

Accountancy and document-heavy professional services

A case file costs more preparation than assessment.

The system takes over the searching and comparing. The accountant, adviser or lawyer stays accountable for the assessment.

Accountants, advisers and other specialists spend a lot of time collecting, ordering and checking information before their actual work can begin.

Request missing evidence specifically
Compare invoices and contracts against the books
Flag gaps and inconsistencies
Assemble periodic reports from several sources

If your organisation is not among these, that rules nothing out. It is about the kind of work, not the industry.

02 · When I am and when I am not

Am I the right fit?

Better clear now than after a quote. Below is when this work suits me, and when you are better off with someone else or something off the shelf.

Probably yes if
  • Software, data and a working process are already there.
  • Your people move information between emails, documents and systems.
  • Off-the-shelf software does not fully solve the problem.
  • Reliability, permissions and control matter.
  • There is one concrete process to start with.
  • You want someone who both designs it and builds the critical part.
Probably not if
  • There is already a good off-the-shelf solution. That is usually faster and cheaper than bespoke.
  • There is no process and no data to hook into yet.
  • There is nobody who can decide about the process.
  • You are looking for advice without anything being built afterwards.
